In line with Egypt’s vision for social development and inclusive growth, Bel Egypt, a global leader in healthy cheese, fruit, and plant-based snacking with a portfolio of differentiated and internationally renowned products including The Laughing Cow®, Kiri®, has launched the “Brighter Future” initiative, a pioneering program designed to employ marginalized youth through specialized training, professional qualification, and sustainable employment opportunities.
Developed in partnership with Samusocial International Egypt, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable youth and supporting their integration into society, and in collaboration with Mansour Group/Manfoods, and HyperOne, the initiative underscores Bel Egypt’s commitment to responsible growth and its dedication to creating long-term, meaningful impact that goes beyond its core business operations.
The signing ceremony was hosted at the French Embassy in Egypt by His Excellency Mr. Eric Chevallier, Ambassador of France to Egypt and attended by Professor Doctor Marianne Amir Azer, Former Member of Parliament and Board Member National Council of Women. The agreement was signed by Hany Arram, Country Manager of Bel Egypt and North East Africa, Géraldine Samir Tawfik, Country Representative of Samusocial International Egypt, Nada Khedr, Managing Director of GTC Mansour Group of compagnies and Karim Hawary, Executive vice chairman of Hyperone.
The “Brighter Future” initiative focuses on supporting young adults over the age of eighteen who have transitioned out of care institutions across Egypt, equipping them with the skills and qualifications needed to enter the labor market with confidence. Through two main pillars, training and employment, the program will provide 1,500 youth with more than 45,000 hours of capacity-building, followed by access to diverse job opportunities within Bel Egypt and its partner organizations.
Commenting on the initiative, His Excellency Mr. Eric Chevalier, Ambassador of France to Egypt, said: “We are committed to supporting initiatives that pave the way toward a brighter and more inclusive future for Egypt’s youth. Employing young people with the right tools and opportunities is the cornerstone of sustainable development. Together, through shared vision and genuine collaboration, we can create lasting impact that uplifts individuals and strengthens communities. This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering collaboration between France and Egypt in advancing social inclusion and creating equal opportunities for all.”
Hany Arram, Country Manager of Bel Egypt and North East Africa, said: “At Bel Egypt, we believe that social responsibility is not a side commitment, it’s an ongoing mission that lives at the core of our business. Through the Brighter Future initiative, we aim to stand beside young people who have grown up in care institutions and are now taking their first independent steps into society. This is often a critical turning point in their careers, and with the right guidance, training, and opportunity, these young talents can thrive and become valuable contributors to their communities. We are proud to collaborate with our partners in the public, private, and civil sectors to turn this belief into a tangible, lasting impact.”
Géraldine Samir Tawfik, Country Representative of Samusocial International Egypt, stated: “This collaboration with Bel Egypt, Mansour Group/Manfoods, and HyperOne marks a turning point for many young people leaving care institutions. Together, we are offering not only training and employment, but a real opportunity for integration, independence, and self-worth. This partnership stands as a model of how corporate engagement can create equal opportunities and truly transform lives.”
This initiative stands as a practical model for how private sector and civil society collaboration can create real and sustainable social value. By joining forces, Bel Egypt and its partners are helping to reduce social exclusion, foster local talent, and promote economic empowerment, ensuring that every participant has the opportunity to build a stable and dignified livelihood.
Additionally, the initiative comes as part of Bel’s global “For All, For Good” mission, which places sustainability and profitability at the heart of the company’s growth model through social inclusion and community empowerment. By translating this purpose into action in Egypt, Bel continues to contribute to national goals focused on reducing inequality, fostering decent work, and building an inclusive, resilient society.
It is worth noting that the Brighter Future initiative represents one of Egypt’s first large-scale private sector collaborations dedicated to supporting youth transitioning out of institutional care, aligning with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through this program, Bel Egypt reinforces its mission beyond providing accessible, nutritious products to creating inclusive opportunities that empower vulnerable youth, strengthen Egypt’s social fabric, and advance long-term sustainable development.
