Set to redefine the future of beauty, L’Oréal Egypt took part at Techne Summit Cairo 2025, held during Egypt Innovation Week. Taking centre stage, Managing Director Mohamed El Araby underscored the company’s unwavering leadership in Beauty Tech, AI-driven innovation, and youth empowerment.
El Araby joined a pivotal panel discussion alongside leading corporates, exploring how companies can bring the latest global innovations to market, collaborate with startups to amplify their impact across Egypt, and act as key partners in empowering the wider ecosystem. During the session, he spotlighted L’Oréal Groupe’s global leadership in Beauty Tech and outlined four core pillars of its innovation journey, reinforced through strategic collaborations with pioneering startups.
L’Oréal Groupe has pioneered the use of Beauty Tech to deliver personalized, inclusive, and responsible beauty at scale by integrating science, AI, and connected services across research, formulation, and consumer experience under its guiding vision: “Beauty for Each, powered by Beauty Tech.” Since 2018, the Group has embedded GenAI and predictive modelling into R&I, marketing, and operations, powering award-winning services such as virtual try-ons and diagnostic engines.
1) Tech for Greater Inclusivity – Lancôme HAPTA, the world’s first AI-powered motion-stabilizing device designed for people with limited hand and arm mobility.
2) Tech for Sustainable Innovation – a collaboration with Swiss sustainable Tech start-up Gjosa creating Water Saver, a showerhead with a new patented water-fragmentation technology, saving both energy and up to 69% of the water used in salons.
3) Tech for More Responsibility, Better for People and the Planet – AirLight Pro, a hairdryer reinvented with infrared light and wind, developed in partnership with Zuvi, a startup specializing in optics and micro-electronics.
4) Tech for Increased Personalization – Revolutionary diagnostic tools enabling deeper skin analysis and a proactive approach to skincare.
El Araby emphasized that this global commitment translates directly into local impact, particularly through initiatives that empower startups and young innovators in Egypt. Building on last year’s Techne partnership—where L’Oréal Egypt collaborated with seven shortlisted startups to exchange expertise, refine business models, and respond to market needs—the company continues to scale its support for entrepreneurship.
Mohamed El Araby, Managing Director, L’Oréal Egypt, said: “At L’Oréal, our vision of creating beauty that moves the world is about more than products—it’s about serving society and creating real impact. I am proud to be here today at Techne summit, showcasing our efforts globally and locally to empower business eco-system with latest innovations and knowledge. Through our partnership with Techne, which we are proud of, we aim to play a role in empowering the country’s vibrant start-up community to accelerate innovation.”
He added, “Today’s consumers expect everything, everywhere, anytime—and through innovations we are meeting those expectations with personalized, inclusive, and sustainable solutions. This is where collaboration with Startups becomes essential. We are eager to continue our role with more youth-focused programs.”
In addition to El Araby’s contribution, Rana Ouf, Human Resources Director at L’Oréal Egypt, joined the panel ‘Empowering the Next Generation: Strategies for Success’ where she highlighted the company’s long-standing commitment to nurturing young talent. She outlined key initiatives including L’Oréal Brandstorm—an innovation-focused business game competition—as well as local internships, graduate programs, and partnerships designed to equip youth with future-ready skills. The discussion examined how organizations can build inclusive, digital-first workplaces and ensure that young voices actively shape the future of business. Through her participation, L’Oréal reaffirmed its belief that investing in young innovators today creates stronger organizations and more resilient communities for tomorrow.
This year’s Techne Summit evolved into the inaugural Egypt Innovation Week 2025, a nationwide platform uniting startups, corporates, investors, and policymakers across Cairo, Alexandria, and beyond. With over 60,000 participants, 1,500 startups, 250 investors, and 300+ speakers from 70+ countries. As founder Tarek El Kady explained: “This isn’t just about a single summit anymore — it’s about creating a national platform for connected conversation.” Within this context, Techne Summit Cairo 2025 offered L’Oréal the stage to showcase its leadership in responsible AI, augmented research, and data-driven services that accelerate both consumer journeys and market impact.
